It’s wet here in LA, raining shirking in fog, as I listen to Christmas carols, I’ll rest easy knowing these tasty holiday dishes are on my Xmas menu. I don’t know where to begin with these recipes, the ultimate finger food, very satisfying, and hearty enough to serve guests when they arrive, or perfect on a holiday buffet table.
Joumana, thank you for making my dinner get-togethers complete with your amazing recipes.

I so want to make the spinach turnovers- and the story just drew me in. People persevere under such hardships. I cannot find sumac – maybe health food store? The sesame candy would be grand to give out at the end of Christmas Eve dinner. Bookmarked because this is a wealth of holiday ideas. Hope your holiday is savory, sweet, warm and bright.
On December 20, 2010 at 11:06 am
Joumana says:
@Claudia: Sumac is sold at all middle-eastern stores and online. It can be substituted with either the juice of a lemon or a half-teaspoon of citric acid. You can also not use it, and use some allspice and paprika instead.

Joumana – many of these recipe I remember seeing this past year. What a lovely trip through some of the GORGEOUS sweets and treats you have made. I missed the cigars and a catering company here makes them. I was sure I could do them without a recipe…. but, now… I know where to find a good one!
